Alexander Tikhomirov

He is a specialist in the fields of history of international Relations and diplomacy, foreign policy and diplomacy of Belarus, contemporary international relations. Has published more than 40 research papers.
Born on February 23, 1965 in Minsk. In 1989 graduated with distinction from the Department of History of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University. From 1990 to 1993 has been studying at postgraduate courses of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Science of Belarus. In 1994 defended a thesis at the major "National History" "Belarusian Migration. 1890s - 1917". From 1993 to 2004 has been working in the Institute of History of the National Academy of Science of Belarus, holding different positions (including the Head of World History and International Relations Department). From 1998 to 2007 has been working in International Humanitarian and Economic Institute, holding the position of Associate Professor. In 2000 was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor at major "History". Since 2004 - Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University. Was awarded Honorary Certificate of Belarusian State University for fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity in preparation of highly qualified specialists (2010).
During pedagogical activity has been preraring courses and special courses, delivering lectures, holding colloquiums and practical lessons with students and Master's students in following subjects: History of Foreign Policy of Belarus, Current Issues of Foreign Policy of Western Europe and North America, Foreign Policy of Russia, Ukraine in the System of International Relations, Place and Role of Eastern European Countries in International Relations.
The fields of academic interest include international relations and diplomacy, foreign policy and diplomacy of Belarus, foreign policy of European countries, foreign policy of Russia, foreign policy of Ucraine.
