Vladimir Snapkovsky

Leading specialist in the field of the history of the foreign policy of Belarus and the founder of a scientific school in this area. Author of more than 380 scientific publications, including 15 books, including the first textbook for university students on the history of the foreign policy of Belarus from ancient times to the present day (in Belarusian and Russian), a course of lectures on the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus, monographs on foreign policy activities of the BSSR, Belarusian-Russian and Belarusian-Polish relations. Compiler and editor of a number of collections of documents and materials on the foreign policy history of Belarus in the 20th and early 21st centuries. (“Belarus at the Palette of Native and Western Dzarzhas” (1914-1991).) in 4 volumes, “External Palette of Belarus (1996-2010)”, v. 8-10, “State Borders of Belarus (1917–2010) .)" in 2 volumes, "Belarusian Knot. Polish-Belarusian Relations in 1918-1921".

Passed scientific internships at the Humberside University (Hull, UK), the Harriman Institute of Columbia University (New York, USA), the University of Greenwich (London, UK), the Belarusian Library and Museum named after F. Skorina in London, the Ukrainian Institute of International Relations, Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Institute of International Studies of Wroclaw University, Higher School of Economics in Warsaw. Visiting professor at a number of Polish universities. Advanced training in 2016 and 2020

Prepared one doctor (S.F. Svilas) and four candidates of historical sciences. Currently, she is providing scientific guidance to several Chinese graduate students on the subject of PRC foreign policy. Laureate of the Academician V.A. Koptyug of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2003) for the publication of the book “Essays on the History of the Belarusians of Siberia” and the Prize of the Belarusian State University named after Academician V.I. Picheta (2008) for preparing a cycle of educational and scientific works on the history of Belarusian foreign policy. Honored Worker of BSU.
