Natallia Karkanitsa

Graduated with distinction from the Faculty of International Relations in 2013 with major in International Law. She continued education on Master program in International law of the same university in 2013 – 2014. Received master diploma in European Studies from the Franco-Belarusian Center, Faculty of Bordeaux IV (France) and diploma in the International Humanitarian Law from the University of Nice-Sofia Antipolis (France).

Languages: English, French, Swedish.

Internships, Trainings:

• Academic exchange fellowship in the University of Abo Akademi (Turku, Finland 2011-2012)

Field of research interests – international human rights law, refugee and migration law, sustainable development goals and their implementation at the national level.

Expertise, social activities:

BSU student teams’ coach for International Law Moot Court Competition since 2014.

Participant and judge for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition (national rounds).

Head of legal unit of the “Refugee Counseling Service” (joint project of the Belarusian movement of medical workers and UNHCR) (2013-2014),

Rights and Development Specialist, United Nations in Belarus (2014-2016).

Programme Coordinator, United Nations Development Programme in the Republic of Belarus (2017-2019)

Currently holds a position of the UN Counsel on data analysis, monitoring and reporting at the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the Republic of Belarus.
